When will there be an Open House/Orientation?
We do not have a traditional open house. During the week prior to school starting, families will be able to pick-up their student’s schedule. We welcome the families to “tour” the academic building, Commons area and Media Center area during this time.
On the first day of school, students work with their instructors to learn the layout of the campus and where their classes are located. Only new students attend on this day, so we try to make their experience as stress-free as possible.
When will my student get their log-in information?
When will I know information regarding bus transportation?
I will be dropping off and picking up my student, when should I arrive?
Our main doors unlock at 7:30 a.m., so you may drop off your student anytime after that. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. until 8 a.m. Your student may go to the Commons to have breakfast or wait for the start of the day.
If you need to pick up students before school is dismissed, please line up along the horseshoe parking lot in front of the high school entrance. If you park anywhere else, we will ask you to move your car. We must keep one lane available for moving traffic.
What does my student need to wear on the first day of school?
What does my student need to bring on the first day of school?
Your student will only need the basic items (notebook, pens, pencils, etc.) on the first day of school. The academic instructors may add a few items the students will need that are specific to their courses. The lab/program instructors will go over a timeline with your student of what items to bring (you should have received a list) and when to bring them to the lab.
I filled out FinalForms, but I am getting a notice that I have not. What do I need to do?
If your student’s partner school also uses FinalForms, they may require you to fill out their forms, as well. Please make sure you fill out FinalForms for BOTH places. If you are unsure about filling out FinalForms for your student’s partner school, we suggest getting in touch with the partner school.
I need to call my student off school, how do I do that (students are only to be called off by people listed on FinalForms)?
There are a few ways to call your student off of school.
Call 740-454-0101 – If the switchboard operator answers, ask for Shannon DiVincenzo or the Attendance office. If the switchboard operator does not answer and your call goes to the greeting, enter extension 6333 or press 1. Please leave a message if Mrs. DiVincenzo does not answer your call.
You also may call 740-586-6333. If Mrs. DiVincenzo does not answer, please leave a message. Mrs. DiVincenzo is very diligent about listening to her messages.
My student just contacted me saying they are feeling sick, who do I call?
My student needs to leave school early, what do I need to do (students are only to be released by people listed on FinalForms)?
The two best methods are:
Write a note, and send it with your student. Make sure the date, time, reason for leaving, name and phone number are all on the note. Your student MUST give the note to the Attendance office before Pride class. If notes are turned in after Pride class, we will have to call and verify the note with you.
Call 740-586-6333, and speak with Mrs. DiVincenzo or leave a message as early in the morning as possible. You may call and leave a message any time before school starts.
***Please note*** Any calls received less than an hour of the early release time may NOT be guaranteed to leave “on time.” This is why it is VERY important to follow the methods mentioned above the best you can to ensure a smooth, timely release of your student.
Students are not permitted to stay in the office until a phone call is received for an early dismissal. They will be sent back to class until it is time for them to leave. We also do not take phone calls from a student’s phone for an early dismissal.
Can my student bring any restaurant food for breakfast or lunch? Or can I drop off any restaurant food for my student for breakfast or lunch?
When will I have access to my student’s ProgressBook/Grades?
